Bikers Bringing Bikers to the Cross

Mission: We are a brotherhood of bikers with an intense desire to reach un-churched bikers with the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. Through honest teaching of the Word and the building of honest relationships, we will grow our faith as Christ Followers. It is our desire to create an honest, loving and open environment where bikers can teach bikers about salvation through Jesus Christ and to help one another live a Christ centered life.

Daytona Biker Church was incorporated in April 2018, we have been meeting now for just over 4 years. A recent study from April, estimated that in the decade beginning n 2020, 3,850 to 7,700 churches closed each year in the United States or 75-150 congregations each week. It is projected those number may double or triple in the wake of the COVID pandemic. More churches have closed than opened and 70% of new churches close within a year with the % increasing within 3 years.

Through the past three years we have continued to be a part of the community we serve holding first our basic statement of "Bikers bringing bikers to the cross." We hold as a basic prinicipal that people learn best in a relationship with another person and we are more interested in knowing others where they are in life, while being clear about where we are in our lives. Our mission statement says clearly that we want to walk alongside others helping and caring for those people in honest and truthful relationships. It is through those relationships that we ourselves grow learning to live respectfully in the lives of those around us whether they are a part of our church family or not. We have a brotherhood with other like minded people who ride and live in the freedom of the wind. What better way to serve God than to be on a motorcycle. Churches hurt themselves by being legalistic, difficult , entitled and demanding but the early church was built not on any of those things but on creating relationships and communities that took care of each other. Paul encouraged us to care for each other but James went further when he wrote "If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's faith is worthless. Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world." (James 1:26-27)

Churches that continue on, continue in serving others rather than leading others. It is the arm around the shoulder, the desire to help, the patience in understanding the hurt of others that will make the difference. If DBC ever becomes arrogant and hostile to the world, it should close. There is a statement in the medical world that says, "First, do no harm" and I believe that churches, including us, need to remember that approach to living.

1 John 3:17-18 says,."But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth."

Much love, Preach
